ua baja racing WEEKLY UPDATE 10.26.07 :: family weekend, chirco's bugtoberfest, forum launch, and M3 joined as a sponsor!

While nothing build related has gone on this week a ton has happened behind the scenes.  Last weekend was Family Weekend at the University of Arizona, Sunday was Bugtoberfest, we launched a forum, and M3 Engineering joined our team as a sponsor!

Most of our team had family in town which we took as a great opportunity to give a tour of the shop along with a presentation on what all we do here at UA Baja Racing.  Thanks to all the families that were able to make it out, it was great to meet you!

Mike was rocketing through the rest of the spindle machining concurrently with the shop tour in order to get the car running by Sunday morning.  The spindles were completed, the car was reassembled, it runs again, w00t.

Wham! Bugtoberfest!  This past weekend was absolutely cooler than a polar bears toenails.  Sunday morning started bright and early at 5 am outside AME in the parking lot with me eating a McGriddle and slurping down caffeine.  About half our team assembled and by 6:20 we had taken off for the Far East (aka East Tucson).  We entered the 2007 in Chirco’s annual Bugtoberfest as the “Best Special Interest” vehicle just for fun.  We got to Chico at 6:45, set up, walked around and checked out the swap meet, buggies, and sandrails.  It was one long day but we met a lot of great people, gathered a bunch of spiffy ideas, and actually met an Alum from the New Mexico State Baja team.

Our team now has it’s own forum which is open to anybody.  It primarily serves as a team communication medium, but you as the public are more than welcome to contribute, comment, and leave your two cents.  The forum can be found at http://uabajaracing.proboard92.com.  Check it out; me blabbing on about it won’t be as neat as actually exploring it.

Tucson’s own M3 Engineering joined our team this past week as a sponsor.  Be sure to visit their website at http://www.m3eng.com!  Thank you to everybody at M3 Engineering!
